Advent Spiral

Oh what a beautiful evening it was! Our celebration began with gathering and socializing, then the children were invited to a nature walk while the spiral was prepared. A darkened room with a spiral of greenery on the floor decorated with shells, pinecones and other treasures was the focus of this meaningful occasion. Mesmerized by the single light in the center, each child walked the spiral in his or her own special way. They lit their own candle then carefully selected a place for their light. As the spiral became brighter with more and more candles, the event concluded with the last child to walk the spiral, and we preserved the reverent mood all the way to our cars.
